NSNZ National Conference a Success

13 November 2023 – New Zealand – Every two years, the national network of over 70 NSNZ Member Organisations gather together as an organisation to learn new skills, share ideas, be inspired, celebrate our successes, and have some fun at the biennial Neighbourhood Support New Zealand national conference.

Last month's two day NSNZ 'THRIVE' Conference was full of highlights – people, presentations, break-out workshops, 'speed dating', panel discussions, networking, food, and magnificent conference goodie bags thanks to many of our generous sponsors. It was the perfect opportunity to network between Districts, broaden perspectives and come together in a specific focus group to speak openly and frankly about not only our achievements, but also some of the challenges we face when pursuing our shared goal of safer communities together.

Our keynote speakers (Jehan Casinader, Allie Mooney, Megan Thorn and Gordon Tietjens) were engaged to inspire and motivate the 100+ attendees, and we can safely say that each and every one of our attendees would have taken some highlights from the diverse range of presentations given. A special thanks to our NSNZ Ambassador Snr Constable Bryan Ward for his high energy, humour and knowledge whilst being the perfect MC for the event.

We were also thrilled to have a group of passionate delegates from the New Zealand Police join us, right from PNHQ through to grassroots level, as well as a contingent from Neighbourhood Watch Australasia who were inspired by the collaboration, passion and drive of both Police and Neighbourhood Support Coordinators nationwide.

Partners from Fire and Emergency New Zealand, the National Emergency Agency and Farmstrong were also in attendance to speak with our members about the different opportunities for partnership at a local level and discuss how we can work together to better educate and serve the people living in our neighbourhoods.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended or supported us in any way!
