11 March 2026 – New Zealand

Neighbourhood Support’s initiative Adopt-A-Drain has won silver for The Best local Authority Campaign at The Worthies Awards 2026.

The Worthies celebrates the not-for-profit and charity sectors whose work drives behaviour change for the better of our community through effective audience engagement.

The day long conference and the Worthies Award ceremony was held at Parliament House in Wellington, and I was honoured to be there to receive it on behalf of Neighbourhood Support and Rainger & Rolfe (the Agency who developed the Adopt-A-Drain logo for Neighbourhood Support).

The conference was truly inspirational and amazing with high calibre of international speakers who spoke about everything from the ‘power of a strong brand’ to what’s happening on the local government social media accounts.

There was a lot of emphasis about being authentic especially in a time of AI (Artificial Intelligence). However, as a pleasant change, the commentary around AI was positive. We learnt why AI isn’t something to be feared but a modern-day tool that everyone should engage with and learn how to use.

Having the Awards ceremony in the actual Parliament building was one of the highlights for me. It is an amazing building steeped in history and our nation’s decision powerhouse so a true privilege to be there and getting recognition for the Adopt-A-Drain initiative.

Thanks to Rainger & Rolfe for putting their authentic heart and soul into this project for a next to nothing budget.
