Neighbourhood Support in the Selwyn District is based at the council in Rolleston and sits with the civil defence emergency management team. Our aim is to create safe, connected and resilient communities. We encourage all residents to join our Neighbourhood Support and Emergency Alerting database - Selwyn Gets Ready. Its free, and all residents who join receive emergency alerts via email and /or cellphone about things that will affect their home and family. ie wild fires, extreme weather warnings, urgent Police messages.

Selwyn Gets Ready is also a secure way for neighbourhood support groups to record members contact details, and any special needs, skills and resources that could be useful to support each other during and after an emergency event.
